Artists and bands that are considered “bad”

In 2016 and 2017 there has been some controversy whether or not some artists are meeting the standards of “good” and “bad”. Now I personally believe that you can’t just categorize music in good or bad because everyone has different tastes. The following artists and bands that have been automatically dead listed, Lil Xan, Blood on the dance floor, falling in Reverse and Melanie Martinez.

Lil Xan,or Diego Leanos,is a 21 Mexican-American rapper from Redlands, California. While he is a rapper his music isn’t “professional” rapping. It has more electronic sound to it instead of just straight beats. He also raps about things like drugs but it’s a misconception that he does them. He as a brand called Xanarchy. People believe that it’s to promote getting high off of Xanax but it’s actually the opposite. He’s trying to get people to stop doing them and he later wants to turn it into a nonprofit charity for kids who are addicted to drugs. People will still say what they will about his music because everyone has different tastes but I truly believe he’s better than what he gets.

Blood on the dance floor is an American electronic music duo from Orlando, Florida, formed in 2006. The group’s former line-up consisted of Dahvie Vanity and Jayy Von Monroe. People who make fun of this band are usually in the punk/rock scene. They do it because BOTDF attempts to be cute and hardcore at the same time making them sound and seem “scene”. Being scene is known as cringey because of the music style and how the fans act. So if it’s cringey then people are going to think it’s bad. I personally don’t like them or their style of music but they obviously can’t be completely terrible because they had some fans.

Falling in Reverse is an American rock band based in Las Vegas, Nevada and formed in 2008, signed to Epitaph Records. A lot of people don’t like the music because it used to be scene music so they just held onto that fact. It also may have to do with the fact that the lead singer, Ronnie Radke, used to not be a good person. He used to be addicted to drugs and would throw mic stands into the crowd during concerts. Even though the band and Ronnie have completely changed people still don’t like them for that fact. They’re personally my favorite band so I adore them but I can understand where people who don’t like them are coming from.

Each artist and band has their own fans so they don’t have to worry about people not liking them. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and that’s what makes diversity in music so great.
