One of the Best Movies Ever

Crazy Rich Asians. I only have one word to describe it. Perfect. It had everything you could ever want. Comedy, drama, backstabbing, cheating, and love. Throughout the movie you were laughing, you were crying (the wedding scene), and you were wanting to travel to Singapore. Or maybe that was just me. But overall this movie was one of the best movies i’ve ever seen, and I have seen a lot. The movie was based off of the popular book series written by Kevin Kwan which features three books. The movie was a little different than the book, but they were both perfect. Let’s start with the beginning. I loved the whole concept that Rachel Chu had no idea who Nick Young’s parents were. In most cases, you would know if your boyfriend/girlfriends family was wealthy but Nick did not want that influence Rachel’s idea of him. So the part when she found out, you truly could feel the way she did as well. If I were also on that plane ride with the luxury seats and drivers asking for my needs, I would be confused as well, but the way that Nick told Rachel was so heartfelt. But what was heartfelt, was Nick’s mother Eleanor. When she first met Rachel she was rude and standoffish due to her having high expectations for Nicks girlfriends. Rachel was obviously trying to impress Eleanor but Eleanor seemed to have no care for meeting Rachel, and she could tell. Rachel after this felt bad because she did not want to come between Nick and his mother relationship. The movie goes on following Astrid’s failed marriage with her coward husband Michael who has been cheating on her.Gross. And Eddie and Amrita’s wedding which is similar to the Royal Wedding. Throughout both these events, Nick and Rachel’s relationships are tested. One major factor being Eleanor went behind their back and got a private investigator to research Rachel and her family. At the wedding Eleanor calls the two over and discusses the research. Rachel immediately runs away and Nick tries to chase her but looses her in the crowd. Rachel goes to her friends house Peikin who’s been there for her since college. They talk it out and then Rachel decides she wants to be alone. Nick constantly calls Rachel wanting to talk things out but Rachel decides not to because she does not want to ruin Nick and Elena’s relationship. She is willing to never see Nicki again due to how she has been treated. She meets with Elinor to tell her that she is leaving Singapore alone because of how she has been treated and tells her how she believes Eleanor and Nicks relationship is more important that Nick and Rachel’s. Eleanor finally understands this women perfect for Nick. Eleanor understand she has been wrong and goes and tells Nick that he must chase after Rachel before she leaves. Time goes on and Rachel is finally heading back to New York. She boards the plane and as she is about to sit she hears someone calling for her.And of course it is Nick! He runs up to her and tells her she can’t leave without him and he proposes, with his mothers ring. That moment Rachel sees that Eleanor accepts Rachel and gave Nick the honor to propose to her. Rachel except and they decide to stay in singapore for a little bit longer. The end. Now you may be asking, just like myself, will there be a sequel. The answer is possible. Since the great success of the first movie, andthe book series having two more books the possibility is high. I love this movie and I don’t understand how anybody could not.
