Student Council Volunteers at Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk

MIDDLEBORO — On Sunday, more than 70 students from a Middleboro High School made the trip up to Wellesley to volunteer at the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk, which raises money for cancer research at Dana-Farber. Students spent the day at the Water Station #7 making and handing out over 5,000 sandwiches for all the walkers taking part in the event. Students helped to setup and clean up the entire stop, from tables and chairs to water and trash.
The stop was 13.1 miles into the full marathon route, marking it the half way point for the walkers that left Hopkinton at 6am. At the walk in 2015, more than 8,900 participants and 1,000 volunteers raised more than $8.2 million for compassionate patient care and innovative cancer research at Dana-Farber.
