Murder on trial Journalism September 14, 2017September 25, 2017 Abigail Sheehan September 14, 2017 Orion Krause, a 22 year old male who allegedly killed 4 people in a Massachusetts home was on trial on Monday September 11, 2017. Krause is a jazz drummer from Rockport, Maine. He has recently graduated from Oberlin College, a liberal arts college in Ohio. Krause had his trial at Ayer District Court in Ayer, Massachusetts. Krause was sentenced to held without bail and be sent to Bridgewater State Hospital pending a competency trial. Krause allegedly killed his 2 grandparents, mother and the grandparents caregiver in the grandparents Groton home, a town about 43 miles northwest of Boston. An eyewitness by the name of Wagner Alocer, stated to the police that after Krause committed the crime, Krause showed up to Alocer house that neighbored the grandparents home. He was muddy, bloody, and naked telling him he just killed 4 people. Alocer also stated Krause eyes were red, he was unarmed and seemed to be quite susceptible to his surroundings. According to CBC news “Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan told reporters that 60-year-old Elizabeth Krause, 85-year-old Elizabeth Lackey, 89-year-old Frank Lackey III and 68-year-old Bertha Mae Parker appeared to have died of blunt force trauma,”. Also according to CBC News “Ryan said a baseball bat was found at the scene and ‘may have been used’ in the attack. She did not disclose a possible motive in the killings.” The bodies of Krause and both Lackey’s were found inside while Parker’s body was found outside the Krause house. Everyone of the people who knew Orion was shocked when they heard what he was being accused of. He never showed any signs of being mentally ill, he seemed to live every day fairly normal. His music teacher stated “he always had a twinkle in his eye” and that he was always ready to learn. One of his friends Wolfgang Boegel, stated he was well-liked by everyone and a phenomenal musician. He also sated they played basketball together not too long ago and everything tend to be quite normal with Krause. Krause will appear back in court Monday October 30th.
