Top 10 Things to Do During: Winter Break Journalism March 2, 2018March 12, 2018 Eric Grady March 2, 2018 Last week we talked about numbers 10 through number 6 on my list of things to do during Winter Break. Number 10 was “Have a Snowball fight!” This was number 10 because it is not the first thing you think of during Winter Break but you also need friends to do it with. Number 9 was “Build a huge Snowman”. This is another fun activity that you need snow for but also you would want friends to help you with. Number 8 was go sledding. Unless you have a hill near you, then you might have to drive to get there. If you have good snow conditions and friends to do it with then this could be higher on the list. Number 7 is “Going Ice Skating”. This can be really fun if you know how to skate. Finishing your skating day with a cup of Hot Chocolate will make it even better. Lastly, Number 6 on our list “ Go to the Movie Theater”. This could be in the top three of our list, but if it was an off year for movies and there was not a good movie out, then the Movie Theater would not be a good option. This is why it landed at number 6 on my list. Now number 5 through number 1 might surprise you a little bit: 5.Hang out with Friends Number 5 is Hanging out with Friends. This can be grouped in with many of the other activities in the Top 10. Sometimes just hanging out with friends at your house is the best option. I know a lot of people who do this and that is why it is number 5 on my list. Some of the things you can do with your friends are playing outside or go for a walk. Spending time with friends is a good time to just take your mind of school, but also is a good time to be with friends. 4.Bake Cookies If you did not know already, I like to bake, cookies especially. But let me explain to you why it is number four on my list. Baking cookies are fun making them but also you get to eat them after. That is my favorite part. The reason I like making them is that of the smells of the cookies while they are baking and because of the taste of the cookie dough. Once you try it, it is hard to stop. 3.Stay Home, Have Hot Chocolate and watch Netflix This could be number one for most people but Staying home, relaxing and watching Netflix is a good interpretation of a teenager in the 21st-century world. This is why it is number 3 on my list. During Winter Break most teenagers take at least 4 out of 5 days to watch Netflix and relax. Like it says in the heading, Hot Chocolate is optional. That is what I usually have while I am watching Netflix or just regular TV. You should do this because it is another thing that will get your mind off of school and the hard work you have been doing the past 6 weeks of school. 2.Take a Vacation to a Warm Place: Florida? Or California? Imagine coming off a plane, seeing a nice warm sun. You see the palm trees standing tall and you put on your sunglasses. You are in the right place, especially during Winter Break. If you like summer, no school, and warm weather, like most teenagers, this is the closest you will get to it besides the summer time. This is why this is number 2 on our list of top 10 things to do during Winter Break. There are many places that fit this criterion in the United States. Some include Florida, California, Arizona, etc. These places mostly have many activities that you can do and are best during the warm weather. One very fun thing to do during in the warm weather, that would give you a break from the cold weather in Middleboro, is going to the beach. That is just one activity out of many you can do on any Vacation. One thing, that has not been mentioned yet is how expensive it is. This type of vacation, like lots of other vacations, take lots of planning and saving of money, but this once in a lifetime opportunity for some, is amazing and that is why it is Number 2 on our list. Next week we will have an in-depth review of Numbers 10 -2 on our list as well as the long-awaited revealing of Number 1 on our list. You will not want to miss it!
