As we head into the new year, we hear about a lot of new music, movies, and all sorts of entertainment that we will encounter as 2017 moves forward. Here are some of the most highly anticipated things set to come out this year.

New music from Ed Sheeran

After Ed Sheeran’s one year hiatus, he recently announced that he is ready to release new music. On New Year’s day he released a video of him holding a piece of paper that said “new music coming friday” and people freaked out. He also released a gif, in the days following his first announcement, which hints towards the fact that the album will be called divide, following the trends of his last two albums, plus and multiply. People have high hopes for his new music and expect it to be just as good as his last albums.

Drake, More Life

Drake is another artist expected to release new music in 2017. As his album, More Life, was due to come out in 2016 but was delayed. He has already released three songs from the album, Fake Love, Sneakin, and Two Birds One Stone. He has yet to announce a new release date  but whenever it comes out, fans are expecting it to be yet another chart topper for him.

Beauty and the Beast

One of the Disney’s biggest Princess movies, Beauty and the Beast, will be coming to the big screen again this March. Only this time, it will not be animated. The film stars Emma Watson as Belle and is expected to be a big hit. Disney has had success in the past with turning animated films into films without animation and this one is expected to be just as good, if not better.

Split

Night Shyamalan is coming out with a new movie this year called Split. It is a true story based off of the kidnapping of 3 girls. The main star of the movie, Kevin, who kidnapped the three girls, has a split personality disorder, which gives the movie a bit of a twist. One moment he thinks he is an 8 year old boy and the next he is someone totally different. The movie follows the girls as they try to escape before the inevitable time that Kevin will kill them.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales

Disney also has another movie coming out this year that is highly anticipated, another addition to the Pirates of the Caribbean series, Dead Men Tell No Tales. This movie, starring Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom, is said to follow Jack Sparrow on another witty adventure as he tries to escape his ill-fortune. It is set to be released this coming May.

2017 is set to be a big year entertainment wise. Along with all of these release above, many more are set to come out, including new music from U2 and Ryan Adams and movies like another installment in the Star Wars series, a new Spider Man and much much more. Along with everything already coming, much more is expected to be announced.
