Predicting the Bruins Win Stanley Cup 2019 Journalism October 17, 2018October 25, 2018 Maddie Cannavo Journalism Article #5 Predicting the Bruins Win Stanley Cup 2019 Hockey is the best sport in the world, in my opinion. It has everything you could want in a sport. There is a lot of fighting which is always entertaining, the games are so intense due to their low scoring numbers so each goal is important, and the players. Since I live in Boston, I am a fan of the Boston Bruins. They are such a young team but their talent doesn’t show it, although we still have the classics Bergeron, Marchand, and Chara. Bergeon has won the same Selke trophy for about 4 years now.I believe that this year we can go all the way and win the Stanley Cup. Going back to what I said, we have such a young team. Mcavoy, Donato ,DeBrusk, Bjork, Heninan, and Carlo are all players that have shown their talent throughout the past years. Most being under the age of 21 and playing in the NHL is crazy and their talent is even better. Last Year DeBrusk had 43 points, Mcavoy had 32 points as a defensemen, and Henin had 47 points. They did not even lead the team in points. David Pastrnak had 80 points, Brad Marchand had 85 points, and Bergeron having 63 points. In the past year they have grown and I hope to see them go far. But their competition is also getting better. As of today October 17, Auston Matthews is leading the league with 16 points already. In second place is another member of the Maple Leafs which is putting them in a good place to make it far. I am going to see the Bruins vs Maple Leafs game on November 10 and I already know it is going to be a good game. Many people are already guessing Matthews will win the trophy this year. Last year we had many players that were out for periods of time because of injuries. To start Bergeron was out for a broken bone in his foot for two weeks. He is one the stonegr players of the team so it was a struggle without him. Also out for some injuries last year was Mcavoy, Krug, Carlo, Marchand, and Krejci. Hopefully this year we do not have to see players injured. Also, last year was the first year that Bruce Cassidy was the coach. He took over the job from Claude Julien who was asked to leave the time. He now coaches Montreal. Cassidy hopefully knows exactly what to do from the start, so we can go far this season. Looking up other predictions for the season, and not many people have the Bruins going all the way. They have the Leafs and Lightning beating them this season as well as playoffs. If I had to predict, I would have Bruins at 1, Leafs at 2, and Lightning at 3. Last year was a different story because of injuries and all of the inconveniences. I am hoping the team proves all of these predictions wrong.
