Senior Trip 2017 Journalism Middleborough High School Uncategorized January 6, 2017February 15, 2017 1 – 6 – 17 By: Alexandra Kielty Senior trip is by far one of the most highly anticipated events of senior year. During the month of April the seniors, Mr. Branagan, the class advisors Mr. Smith and Mr. Burke, as well as a few more chaperones pack up and ship off to Florida for an entire week. The week is packed full of theme parks, events such as grad bash, water parks, and beach days. After a tough winter a little fun in the sun is all the seniors need to kick start their excitement for graduation. Senior trip is not only a fun break from the stress of school but also a way for the senior class to bond. This class has spent four years of high school together. They have seen the good moments, the bad moments, and every moment in between. Half the students in our grade have grown up together. Senior trip is a last hurrah before they all go their separate ways at college, the job force, or the military. The cost of senior trip is $1650; which, might be intimidating to some people. If students are paying for the trip themselves they might be apprehensive because of the cost. Br. Branagan makes it as easy as he possibly can and allows people to pay with the plan he made of 3 $500 deposits, or they can pay as they go. As Branagan always tells us, $10 here and there can add up. During the week ending with January 6, 2017 Mr. Branagan sent out an informational flyer. It detailed the upcoming meetings and their purpose as well as the balance that each student owes toward the trip. The deadline to pay for the trip was moved up to February instead of March making the deadline fast approaching. On Monday, January 9, there will be a brief meeting in the library to discuss the rooming situation for the trip. Students attending the trip must pick the roommates they will be living with for a week. It is in everyone’s best interest to think or plan ahead so they can be in a room with people they are friends with and not be stuck with random people they barely know. The average number of people per room is four; so, find three other pals and be prepared on Monday. Because senior trip happens so late in the year pictures from the trip will not be in the original yearbook. Because so many vital senior year events happen after the yearbook deadline the yearbook team has decided to also create a supplement for our book. After graduation images will be added and a supplement packet will be sent to everyone who ordered a yearbook containing pages with the later events. If anyone takes any good group photos while on the trip they can email them to the yearbook email and they might make an appearance in the yearbook. Hope everyone is getting excited for senior trip. It seems so far away still but this year is flying by and before we know it we will be flying home from Florida and getting ready for finals and our caps and gowns.
